More information
This is a man who brings with him a raft of world class knowledge and experience that can only be gained working with the very best riders from around the globe. His richly deserved reputation is underlined by the list of personal achievements specifically in the toughest sporting event on the planet... the Tour de France. He’s one of only four Brits to wear the yellow jersey and was also among the most successful domestiques in the professional peloton.
Without a doubt, Sean is one of the true greats both on and off the bike. His palmarès as the main lead coach/director to pro cycling teams such as Team Sky, CSC and Astana have earned him a place in the sport’s hall of fame.
That’s why we are more than delighted TrainSharp’s senior cycling coach is here with us full time and is ready to help in your own quest for cycling success.
Sean knows how to get the best out of people. From novice to elite, we all have our own little ‘World Championships’ to win. These might include the local club run but you still need to train correctly even to win the ‘village sign sprints’.
Sean will consult, discuss, compile, document and monitor your needs, establishing your expectations. This is then structured into an achievable programme with pre-set and agreed milestones to monitor your progress, all of which is communicated effectively in a clear and concise manner. He’s available to help you all the way, with the empathy that you would expect from the best.
However, due to the amount of time required to coach effectively, places on Sean’s rota are extremely limited; if you would like to be added to the selection list please register your interest by email and we will be in touch.
Sean offers his service on stage 2 packages and bespoke build packages.
It’s fantastic to have Sean back in full harness... now it’s up to you to take advantage!

WHAT MAKES TrainSharp SO VERY DIFFERENT?
That would be our entire approach to coaching. We care passionately about inspiring talent, getting people to perform well and successfully, which is why we offer bespoke training and coaching.
But then so do a lot of other people.
We, though, go much further. We fit the training to your lifestyle, working with your body and working with your talent. Whether you're an everyday rider or among the elite,we'll develop a two way relationship with you so that we fully understand and appreciate where you're coming from and where you want to end up. We do all this because we know the biggest challenge facing most riders is juggling our day-to-day lives particularly when you're trying to squeeze in any meaningful cycling training.
More than 95% of our clients come to us through personal referrals from others who have joined Trainsharp and have achieved their goals and even become winners.
We look forward to working with YOU!
Sean and Jon share many of the same ideas about what makes coaching effective which means riders will be in a win–win situation. Every aspect of the training plan will be determined jointly by Jon and Sean to create the most appropriate package to improve your fitness and give you the results that you want.
All this means that the planning, tailoring and tracking of your training is managed by probably the strongest and most able team around – Sean Yates and Jon Sharples.
