About Sean Yates & TrainSharp

New Coaching Partnership With Sean Yates!

Sean Yates is set for a very busy time with the Astana team in 2009 with Lance Armstrong making his well-publicised comeback next year. Over the next few months he’ll be travelling extensively and, as a result, Sean has had to take a long hard look at how best to keep his personal coaching services available.

Well, the good news is that he’s formed a working partnership with Jon Sharples at TrainSharp – which means that anyone who signs up with Sean for a coaching package will be getting two top coaches for the price of one!

Jon and Sean have known each other, and ridden together, for many years and both ride for the elite In-Gear race team. Over this time Sean has developed a respect for Jon’s riding and coaching abilities and has now asked him to get involved with his own coaching activities.
In essence, any rider that signs up to be coached by Sean Yates in 2009 will still get the benefit of Sean’s many years of experience at the highest level, but will have their day-to-day coaching plan managed by Jon. At each stage of the training, Sean and Jon will decide the most appropriate way forward for individual riders but the regular contact will be with Jon.

Sean and Jon share many of the same ideas about what makes coaching effective which means riders will be in a win–win situation. Every aspect of the training plan will be determined jointly by Jon and Sean to create the most appropriate package to improve your fitness and give you the results that you want.

Day-to-day Jon will assess your performance and fine-tune the agreed programme. Sean will get regular feedback on your training progress and will be able to provide input as and when required.
All this means that the planning, tailoring and tracking of your training is managed by probably the strongest and most able team around – Sean Yates and Jon Sharples.

Both of us look forward to working with you so take a look at our training plans now!
