"As a new comer to cycling, in fact a new comer to exercise after a 20years of “body abuse” Jon Sharples has helped me to gain much more than just a reasonable level of fitness.
At the grand old age of 42 I smoked two packets of cigarettes a day, drank copious amounts of alcohol, ate anything and everything (bad), did no form of exercise what so ever, using a perceived “globe trotting” live style as my excuse. As an owner of a multi million pound company I don’t respond well to being told what to do, so a real challenge for someone to “sort me out.”
Two years later, with the guidance, attention and expertise of Jon I have lost around 5 stone in weight, the “body abuse” has now stopped and I’m able to enjoy exercise, it’s not a chore, it’s a real enjoyment. Jon has “life-coached” me throughout, helping me understand that living a healthy lifestyle is actually a very nice way to conduct yourself. Surely, I can now ride a bike, but the whole encounter has been much more than that.
Jon posses’ superb motivational skill, every little achievement was rewarded by praise and encouragement, nothing was too major, Jon broke my schedule down into easy to understand and comprehend instructions. Adjusting the training as we went to suit my ever-changing workload and life style. Whilst originally I found the training programs very tough both physically and mentally, they became easier and as my fitness levels improved, the hours then required to maintain this fitness reduced. In my first year I completed two French sportifes at around 155 km each, and competed in the East Sussex Hard Riders TT, all of which were superb experiences. The fact that Jon actually won the event gave us all an added lift.Training smart has to be the way forward, there is so much “free” information around today, but generally speaking if something is free of charge, it has no value, therefore, if it has no value its worth………nothing. I’m not saying it’s bad advice, it’s just not tailor made, engaging the service of Jon will ensure you receive a training schedule that fits precisely to your goals, aspirations, ability and available time"
